Eager to start the day, we hopped on the earliest boat shuttle from Positano to the Arienzo Beach Club. The boat ride is a short 10 minutes, just long enough to take in the views of Positano.
After settling into our lounge chairs, I promptly ordered a drink. It’s five o’clock somewhere….
If you haven’t already met, let me introduce you to the sgroppino, AKA my drink of choice for a day of swimming and soaking up the sunshine off the cliffs of Positano. It’s a blended lemon cocktail and this place makes the best I’ve had. A perfect marriage of creamy lemon gelato and prosecco bubbles.
Lunch at Arienzo Beach Club
After a few hours of swimming in the Mediterranean and a sgroppino (or two), we decided it was time for lunch. The menu features local specialities like spaghetti alle vongole, gnocchi alla sorrentina and fresh fish.
We also ordered a few liters of white wine. “Do you want peaches in it?” our server asked. Do I want peaches in my wine at lunch on a hot day at the beach in Italy? “Yes, why yes, I do.”
Eventually all good things must come to an end and as the sun started to set, we lined up at the pier. It was one of those days you never want to end and I was so sad to leave! At least you know beautiful views of Positano await on the way back to the main pier.
My husband organized this beach day as a birthday surprise and said the reservation process was very smooth. We heard about some poor experiences at other beach clubs in Positano, so this was an easy choice with their excellent customer service and prompt communication. Arienzo Beach Club in Positano was the best experience I’ve had at a lido in Italy.
Be sure to make a reservation because this is a popular spot.
Arienzo Beach Club Prices
Two lounge chairs and an umbrella are about €25. Spaghetti, €15. Cocktails, €8. Round trip boat ride, €10. Prices are approximate and quoted from my last visit in 2018. The costs are quite reasonable when you consider the service and the overall experience at a luxury destination in Italy. You won’t regret a day or a penny spent at this beach club in Positano.

It depends on what time of year you are planning to go and how big your group is. For example, once at the end of May I went with just another couple and I think I called a few days before? But then again in August I went with a group of 10, so we emailed about a month in advance. I would reach out to them directly and just ask. They could tell you when they start accepting reservations. I’d error on the side of too early, just in case. Enjoy!
Hi there! Thanks for sharing your daytrip! I was wondering if you know if you NEED to make a lunch and/or sunbed reservation to be able to get onto the boat or if you can just pay the 5 euros to take the shuttle and then stay on the free part of the beach on a towel?

The boat will pick you up right at the main pier in Positano where the all ferries dock (right in front of Hotel Covo dei Saraceni). They can give you all the info on times too if you email them. They were very friendly and responsive. Please, have a sgroppino for me! Enjoy!
