From rural fincas to luxury resorts, there is every kind of hotel in Mallorca to suit various kinds of travelers. For as many no frills, countryside properties, you’ll also find an equal amount of 5-star hotels.
Each type of hotel offers something different and it can be difficult to choose from so many wonderful options. In this guide, I’ll share where I stayed during my last trip to Mallorca, a few on my wishlist for next time, a brand new hotel and an ancient one.
Rural Fincas in Mallorca
Fincas remind me of Tuscan villas that offer privacy and relaxation. You’ll need to rent a car to stay in these hotels as they are usually tucked away from main roads with public transportation. Fincas are the best choice for those looking for a quiet vacation where you just want to hang around the pool and dine in the hotel restaurant.
Hotel Mirabó De Valldemossa
Mirabó De Valldemossa offers the relaxation of a country house while still being very close to town. Enjoy the views of nearby villages and an infinity pool. Valldemossa is also home to a very cute olive oil shop and a fantastic restaurant that I wrote about in my 3-day itinerary.
The adult only hotel preserves the original character of its 16th century olive farm with rustic details and stone walls. It is also family-run by the same family since 1898.

The finca features an infinity pool, spa, lush bougainvillea trees and a restaurant serving Mediterranean food and fresh cocktails.

Hotel Cappuccino
I was so fortunate to stay in a suite at Hotel Cappuccino for a photography collaboration. I have such fond memories of taking a dip in the small rooftop pool and having breakfast on the outdoor terrace. The rooms are also pet friendly so we enjoyed brining our dog as well.
The interior was designed by a French designer, the painters were brought in from Italy to hand paint the designs on the walls, and a lot of the furnishings and art are made by Spanish. So essentially, the property somehow beautifully incorporates my love of all three countries!

Can Bordoy Grand House & Garden
Book your stay at Can Bordoy for a five star luxury property with outdoor spaces, chic rooms and a pool. This luxury property with 24 suites was a former palace, so it feels more like a residence.
As home to the largest private garden in the city, you’ll feel like you’re in an oasis tucked away from the lively city. With easy walking access to all the sites around Palma, it’s the best of both worlds.

These resorts rate in a category of their own in luxury and offer an unforgettable, unparalleled experience.

One cannot list the best hotels in Mallorca without mentioning the Belmond hotel La Residencia. This luxury hideaway in Deia has been welcoming creatives and intellectuals for centuries. Each of the 71 guest accommodations is unique offering views, art and local antiques.
If you can’t swing a room here, having dinner at El Olivo is a more affordable luxury and highly recommended. The Restaurante Miró is also a great choice and doubles as an art experience with 33 original Joan Miró paintings.

Best Value Hotels
Since travel has exploded in recent years, the average price of hotels has skyrocketed. My best advice would be to book as far in advance as you can. It’s the last minute bookings that seem to be the most expensive as demand is high and some of the basic rooms are all sold out. However, the more budget conscious traveler need not sacrifice beautiful design and a special accommodation in Mallorca.
SólleRooms Guesthouse
This guesthouse in Sóller in a great location to be walking distance to the large market on Saturdays and the historic tram that goes to the port and Palma. Rooms around $150 for a Saturday night in August!

I enjoyed your thoughts on Mallorca. You may want to revisit the Hotel Cappuccino as the recent reviews would suggest this hotel has diminished since you last visit(s).
Some negative reviews I’m seeing on Google are in regards to the cafe… which, I agree, is a little overpriced for certain items. However, the recent reviews on Booking directed at the hotel only are still good with an overall score of 9.3.
