Arrivederci June
June was a month full of changes and one very special farewell trip in Italy. We moved to San Diego the last week of June, but not before we went back to some of our old favorite spots in Italy and explored a few new ones. We started where we lived in Naples and then made our way north with stops in Tuscany, Cinque Terre, Lake Garda and the Dolomites.
Initially we had only planned to stay in the Dolomites for two nights to attend our friends’ wedding, but we extended our stay for one night because it was just that stunning. I’ve already shared a few posts on where we stayed in Tuscany and Lake Garda, but expect more mini city travel guides and a full 10-day itinerary (hopefully soon).
This last week in San Diego has been a bit of an adjustment. Repatriation is a process and I’m trying to focus on the things I’ve missed while living abroad (hello Trader Joe’s, Home Goods and Mexican food!).
I can’t believe it’s been a year since our trip to Provence to see the lavender. Time has flown by!
Things I loved in June
We’ve been apartment hunting and we finally found one! The market here for renting and buying in California (and San Diego especially) is very competitive. Listings will barely be up for 10 hours on Craigslist before it’s gone. Since we’ve been living in hotels and airbnbs since the first week of June, I’m excited to nest a bit and I’m loving all things California boho and vintage rugs (definitely check out Frances Loom’s collection of vintage rugs on her instagram!).
In the spirit of 4th of July, I’ve rounded up some fun red summer pieces including some red tops I’ve been eyeing from my favorite French brand Sézane .
Ciao July
After visiting our family in Sacramento for a few days, we will be moving into our new place in San Diego (fingers crossed). While we won’t be jet-setting every other weekend to Positano or Paris like we used to when we lived in Italy, we’re excited to explore San Diego, embrace the slow life and relax at home.
